Description
An Olive Branch "Symbol of Forgiveness"
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32
Have you heard the phrase "extend the olive branch?" It's a symbol that signifies forgiveness. Just as we reach out to mend relationships in our lives, God has graciously extended an olive branch to each of us through the gift of Jesus.
"For if you forgive other their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." Matthew 6:14-15
While this verse may feel challenging, it illustrated God's readiness to forgive us asking us to offer that grace towards others. If you find yourself harboring feeling of resentment or bitterness, consider releasing those burdens to God. Allow Him to heal your heart and give you the strength to forgive.
May this design be a reminder when offended to forgive quickly and extend the olive branch. - Deborah
"So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your bother, and then come and offer your gift." Matthew 5:23-24
