Put on the full armor of God that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:11-12

As believers in Jesus Christ, we will be opposed by Satan “in spiritual warfare.” God has given us “armor” to protect against the schemes/ temptations of Satan. A soldier never goes to the battlefield without protection and his weapons. We are on the “spiritual battlefield” every day. Putting on the “full armor of God” is a decision to live victorious.

Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Ephesians 6:13 NAS

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and request.
